Judith Wildgrass offers an insider perspective on a misunderstood issue under siege. Born and raised in Western Australia, Wildgrass grew up around coal mines and has cultivated found materials to gently convey her views to a wider audience. In an interview, she stated: “We all know too many stories where the third generation destroys everything the first two have built. I wanted to combat the war on the mining industry artistically. It's imperative that closed-minded ‘open-minded’ middle-class citizens, such as those in Newtown, have access to both sides of the story. The negative impacts of mining are completely offset by the positive.”
